Thierry Henry probably expressed the professional opinion of all other top class players when he said of Wayne Rooney, "He is someone who plays with absolutely no fear and when you have a striker like that, then there are no limits. English football is very fortunate to have such a great striker ... I would pay to watch him play." It is this utter fearlessness which has marked Wayne Rooney out for greatness - he has that enviable ability, even at such a young age, to play to the highest standard, no matter how big the occasion.

Such an occasion was the England Croatia match in Lisbon, Portugal, in June 2004, when a win would mean entry into the quarter finals. Croatia scored after just 6 minutes but England were undaunted and an excellent pass from Rooney to Scoles 5 minutes from half-time allowed him to score the equaliser. Then, just on half-time, the favour was returned when Scholes passed to Rooney, who blasted the ball into the back of the net to give England the half-time lead.

After 68 minutes, Owen released Rooney with an excellent pass and Rooney scored from the edge of the penalty area, with just Butina, the goalkeeper, to beat. The final score was a 4-2 victory for England, and Wayne Rooney's burgeoning reputation as a top England striker had been given another major boost.

1. Quality of printing & paper

The printed lines and colours of the many intricate patterns on our Certificate of Authenticity are sharp, clear and free of smudges or blurred edges. The paper is high quality, textured and of a heavier weight than normal paper.

2. Integrated image

Each Certificate of Authenticity also includes either an example image of the product or a small photo of the individual signing the product.

4. Online verification

The name and authentication code of every item is printed onto every Certificate of Authenticity. By entering the authentication code into the A1 Sporting Memorabilia website you will be able to view more detailed images of the signed item, a detailed description and if available photos of the individual signing the item.

5. Signed by Managing Director

Every single Certificate of Authenticity is also signed by Terry Baker or Freda H. Baker - the directors of A1 Sporting Memorabilia to guarantee that the item is genuine and hand signed.

We have conducted hundreds of signing sessions with legends from the sporting world including Pele, Frank Bruno, Shane Warne and Martin Johnson. We have exclusive memorabilia contracts with Sir Geoff Hurst and Jimmy Greaves - both of whom are shareholders in A1 Sporting Memorabilia - Martin Peters, Gordon Banks, Sir Henry Cooper and many others.

A1 Sporting Memorabilia is also the sole supplier of all official authenticated merchandise bearing Pele's signature, having recently signed an exclusive four-year deal with the legend.

Because of the additional specialist work involved with framing please allow 10 working days for delivery of framed items.

Premium framing option

Standard UK Delivery - £4.95 (Small items)

Orders sent via our standard delivery service are sent via Royal Mail Recorded Delivery. We aim to dispatch all UK orders within 2 working days.

Standard UK Delivery - £14.95 (Large items)

Some of our larger items are dispatched using a courier service due to their size, weight and value.

Additional delivery charges apply for an address in the Scottish Highlands, Channel Islands and Isle of Man.

International Delivery

All international items are dispatched using either Airsure, or International Signed For. You will usually receive your item within 10 working days. Fees are calculated at the checkout dependant on size, weight and destination.

We require a signature for all packages that we send out. If you are not at home in the day, we recommend getting your order delivered to a work address. If you are not in when a delivery is attempted, the parcel will be taken to your nearest postal sorting depot. A card will be left with instructions on how to retrieve it.

We are not responsible for any customs duties, taxes or levies on international orders. We do not expect there to be any additional charges for international orders but we recommend that you check with your local customs officials or post office for further information.
