Dave Mackay

Described by the late, great Brian Clough as 'Tottenham's greatest ever player', Dave Mackay was a fearless defender who galvanised all those around him and during his nine seasons at White Hart Lane he helped inspire the club to its most successful years of the modern era. Signed from Scottish side Hearts for £32,000 in March 1959, the Edinburgh-born star quickly fund his feet in north London and with the attacking talents of Jimmy Greaves and Cliff Jones on hand to compliment his no-nonsense defending, Tottenham became a force to be reckoned with.
