Sergio Aguero

Sergio Aguero is one of the greatest players in Manchester City history and one of the most prolific strikers the Premier League has ever seen.

The Argentine forward joined Manchester City from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and made an immediate impact in English football. Combining explosive acceleration, intelligent movement and outstanding finishing ability, Aguero became the focal point of a Manchester City side entering the most successful period in the club's history.

His defining moment arrived during his very first season in England. On the final day of the 2011-12 campaign, Manchester City needed to beat Queens Park Rangers to secure their first English league title in 44 years. With City drawing 2-2 deep into stoppage time, Aguero scored the dramatic winning goal that secured the Premier League title and created one of the most famous moments in English football history.

That goal proved to be the beginning of an extraordinary decade at the club. Aguero went on to win five Premier League titles with Manchester City and established himself as one of the competition's most consistent goalscorers.

He scored 184 goals in 275 Premier League appearances, including a record 12 Premier League hat-tricks, and won the Golden Boot during the 2014-15 season.

Across all competitions, Aguero scored an extraordinary 260 goals in 390 appearances for Manchester City, becoming the club's all-time leading goalscorer. His combination of longevity, goalscoring records and major honours established him as one of the defining players of Manchester City's modern era.

Aguero also enjoyed a distinguished international career with Argentina, earning more than 100 senior caps and representing his country at three World Cups. He was part of the Argentina squad that won the Copa America in 2021, adding a major international honour to an already remarkable career.
